she knew the risk of leaving the safety of her home town, but she wanted out, to feel free again. but it could come at a heavy cost, the possibility that she wouldn’t make it as far as desired. but she doesn’t slow down, not even when their scent is getting stronger with each step taken. her heart is pounding against her chest, sweat forming upon her brow, and with her focus on the group behind her, she fails to notice the bear trap hidden beneath a pile of leaves until it’s teeth are buried into the flesh of her leg.
her body thuds against the ground and she cries out, a growl of anger combined with fear. even if they’ve got her surrounded, even if she couldn’t escape, there was no way in hell she was giving up without a fight.

she should of smelled him coming, or even the fact that she wandered within range of another of her kind. but her senses...
